Seriously, why play any game? For fun of course. |

UW and FoW. AFAIK there is no entrance to them from Cantha, and nothing similar with good PvE rewards. Although I suppose ectro and shards are going down in price, ectos were 6k at NPC yesterday.

"plus you can bring your canthan toon over to tyria and play through the game, for example i know someone who has ascended their canthan monk....
plus i'm sure there are some like you who have not finished the core game, and will go back to do stuffs here and there" How do you do this? Can anyone help a noob out? I just started playing this week. I have never played the original only Factions. I bought the original today because I thought it would give me more options as I role up new characters. I have tried to find the answer in these forums but since they have the search feature turned off it is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I travled on the mainland North to the town (Cant rmember name) where you can "Travel" but that only took me to the PvP area (I think). I simply want to take my character that I started on Factions and go to Tyria and see the world and do some quests there. However, I have no clue how to do it and its driving me mad. I spent like 2 hours today looking in game w/o any luck. Any help wpuld be great. Thanks in advance for helping a hapless noob. ABR |

There is in fact an entrance to both UW and FoW in Cantha, and its exactly the same UW. The newly renamed obsidian armor is available for the new professions, as well as the new armor types for the old professions at the forgemaster.

They added 2 tyria specific titles, that's a new incentive. :/

most likely just any statue i think... but how do you get ascended in factions then to get in? and anyway i was extremely dissapointed with factions and i spend probably 90% of my time in tyria just messing aroud trying to get 100% of the map explored.

because factions didn't make prophecies obsolete...prophecies is still fun (to me at least). I spend my time equally between factions and prophecies.

tyria itself should be an incentive, as well as farming in tyria

The tyrian quests seem to give me more of a sense of achievement. Compare Ashes/Galrath to the majority of the delivery boy missions in Cantha.

I can farm gold faster in Tyria. Farming in the desert is fun (for me), pays well, and is an easy way to burn away 2 or 3 hours when I have nothing else to do.

Although I'm loving Factions, I've found I've played more Prophecies this week. I wanted the protector title, and it was a nice challenge to do the bonuses I hadn't got yet with my monk. A big dislike about Guild Wars for me is the necessity for a monk, and how hard it can be sometimes. With all my other characters I get refused from parties because they need a monk, or I have to sit waiting for 30 mins for a monk to come. But when I play my monk, it's like everybody wants me to join them, and I can get on with playing. I enjoy the game most with that character. The missions also go much better when I'm the monk, if you rely on other people or the henches, the mission can go horribly wrong. |

Because of the wonderful farming in Tyria...
because Tyria is a proper developed game when factions is just beginning, because you enjoy it.. because you want the skills (Elites)... because of the FoW farming or if you still need the greens in tyria. and for sheer nastolgia value \m/ (few of the many answers to this silly post ) |
